Consultant - Behaviour Support Specialist

Karen works for My Disability Practitioners on a contractor basis. Karen holds qualifications in psychology, she is an AASW Accredited Social Worker and is currently completing a Masters qualification in Social Work. Karen has completed courses in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Best Practices in Early Childhood Intervention, Secret Agent Society (social skills for children with Autism) and she is a person-centred trainer with experience training disability staff throughout NSW in person centred practices (MAPS and PATH).

Karen has had over 12 years’ experience working in the disability sector, both government and non-government and has had over 20 years’ experience working within the human services sector and is a registered Behaviour Practitioner with the NDIS Commission. Karen is passionate about working with people who have various levels of disabilities, including children and families effected by autism and has established autism support groups to enable people to come together to share their experiences, learn new skills and be able to support one another. Karen is very passionate about her work.
